The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) was first born by Sir Herbert Beerbohm in 1904 at His Majesty’s Theatre in Haymarket. Mr Beerbohm was famous for his breathtaking productions of Shakespeare Classics.
Nowadays it is one of the most famous Drama Schools in Britain and also one of the most exclusive. Very few get past the audition stage, with a yearly intake of students as low as 30 places.
Many famous faces have walked out of its doors and straight in to the heady heights of stardom, including actors & actresses such as Sir John Gielgud, Roger Moore, Albert Finney, Alan Rickman, Glenda Jackson and John Hurt.
There are many courses available such as working in Television, Specialist Technical Courses, Theatre Directing Courses, and Acting Study.
RADA is on the same street as the Regency House Hotel.
