London is fortunate to be graced by over 200 Art Galleries, including some of the finest in the world and housing some of the most important Art works anywhere.

The National Gallery houses one of the world’s greatest collections of European paintings. The Art works here belong to the public and so the entrance fee is free.

The Tate gallery has been holder of the National Collection of British Art since 1500 and can be found at Milbank.

The National Portrait Gallery was opened in 1856 and houses paintings of historical importance as well as portraits of famous British subjects. The portraits include drawings, caricatures, sculptures and self portraits of Hogarth, Reynolds and others. As well as the permanent collection there is also a changing display of contemporary work.
