North of its cousin Trafalgar Square, and central to Piccadilly and Covent Garden, Leicester Square is one of the most popular haunts in London.

You will also find a marvelously amusing statue of the late Mr Charlie Chaplin, once one of its famous residents, he stands alongside the likes of Sir Isaac Newton, Joshua Reynolds and Mr William Hogarth.

Half way through the 19th century, Leicester Square grew in popularity when music halls sprung up all about the place.  After the late 1920′s, the first Cinemas of the day were built.

The world of film eventually took over from the old style entertainments, and Leicester square is still famous for the presence of movie stars attending premiers.

The young swamp the square on a Friday and Saturday night to attend the well known and exhilarating clubs.
