If, during your visit to London, you are staying at one of the many hotels near Soho, then you cannot fail to miss the numerous attractions that surround you. Here are just a few of those that you will want to visit during your vacation or business trip:
Chinatown
Located directly north of Leicester Square, Chinatown is a bustling main street of restaurants, Oriental grocery stores and souvenir shops. Here, you can sample every type of Asian cuisine, and all at moderate prices. Choose between the slightly more upmarket restaurants, or if you’re on a budget, then check out the numerous buffet options, including all you can eat sit-down meals and takeout boxes, which start at as little as £5 per person. There are also plenty of pubs and bars in the area, so you will not be short of places to go in the evening. They range from small corner pubs to some of the bigger bars and nightclubs that overlook Leicester Square. If you are feeling lucky, then you can also try your hand at one of the numerous casinos that are now open, and if you stay out late, then there are plenty of pizzerias and burger stalls around to feed your appetite.
Shaftesbury Avenue
Many of London’s West End theatres are located on Shaftesbury Avenue, and here you will find the chance to catch a show or musical, either at an afternoon matinee performance, or at night. If you are unsure which show to choose, then it’s a good idea to take a quick walk to Leicester Square, where you will find a booth that offers discounted tickets daily for many of the top theatre and musical performances.
Trafalgar Square & the Thames
One of the main benefits of staying in a hotel near the Soho area is that you really are in the heart of the city. Just a ten-minute walk south and you’ll find yourself at Trafalgar Square, where you can take in some of the many street performers. Walk a further ten minutes south and you will arrive the Thames. The River Thames is the setting for many of the major London attractions, including the London Eye, Royal Festival Hall, National Film Theatre and the London Aquarium. In addition, there are a number of river-boats, with bars and seating, where you can have a snack and a drink, while you overlook the water.
One thing is for sure, whatever your interests are during your visit to London, a stay at a hotel close to Soho will always guarantee you a good time.
